{"id":115,"date":"2010-01-14T22:28:38","date_gmt":"2010-01-15T03:28:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.tonybeshara.com\/blog\/?p=115"},"modified":"2010-01-14T22:28:38","modified_gmt":"2010-01-15T03:28:38","slug":"shawn-listened","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.tonybeshara.com\/blog\/shawn-listened\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8230;shawn listened"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>shawn goes to negotiate a comp plan as he is accepting the job&#8230;he skillfully postpones talking about money until the very last issue..<\/p>\n<p>when the converstion about money came up, he simply said, &#8220;lets get a few more things clarrified and then we can talk about money&#8230;&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>so, he gets a clear understanding of <em>everything<\/em>\u00a0 about the job&#8230;and then they trun to money&#8230;he asks the hiring manager what they had in mind..(he knew all along..just wanted to hear it again)..<\/p>\n<p>after he hears the answer, he states that he can do more than the reqirements&#8230;he enumerates all of the <em>value<\/em> he brings to the company&#8230;he reviews his past performance, he reminds them why he is the best candidate&#8230;gets them to agree that he is pretty unique&#8230;then simply tells them that the job is worth $15,000 more than what they want to pay..and reminds them of the <em>value<\/em> he brings&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>they agree to think about it&#8230;he is gracious and not flustered..<\/p>\n<p>keep in mind, he doesn&#8217;t have a job now&#8230;in fact, he has been out of work for a while&#8230;doesn&#8217;t even have another offer&#8230;or even close to one&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>we&#8217;ll see what they say&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>shawn goes to negotiate a comp plan as he is [&hellip;]<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[1],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v21.2 -
